Dye
for flute and electronics
2013
duration: 10'55"
studio: Central Conservatory of Music
first performance: Monaco International Electroacoustic Composition Competition 2014
The sound materials used in this work are derived from flute. This piece presents variations of colours: unification and separation, compression and diffusion, connection and fragmentation, stillness and disturbance are nothing but colours' relationships in movement. The piece is based on the musical interaction between live performance and fixed media. The acoustic sounds and electronic sounds interact with each other and merge together, which represents the idea of "dye."
*Dye was awarded First Prize in Monaco International Electroacoustic Composition Competition 2014
